A very long week...

Sorry all. I've had a very long week. And even after going to Disney World all day, I still have another long week ahead of me. If I don't get to post, I'm sorry. I'm trying to balance a lot, but I promise I won't forget you all =). Hope to talk to you soon! (Ps...e-mail me with any good sites you find, etc. It'll help the process and I'll give you credit for them ^.^)

worthwhile

worthwhile

Agness's site shows the work of a very strong woman. The best way to describe her subject matter is in her own words: "A compilation of information and experiences as I try to concieve my first child." Over the past year, she has compiled massive amounts of information and many touching first-hand accounts of her personal trials. If anyone out there is interested in this subject, or is going through something similar, this inspiring blog is a must-read.

Gindy.blogspot.com

Gindy.blogspot.com

Gindy is one of the most informed bloggers I've seen. If you're looking for some good news commentary (especially in his areas of expertise: Politics, Economy, and Religion) I'd highly recommend taking a look. He also posts a question of the day that usually creates a train of thought long enough that you feel the need to post an answer. The bredth of topics is wonderful and quite refreshing; even with topics I usually see as generalized and repetitive, he hones in and pulls out focused, thought-provoking facts that the nightly news never quite covers.

Blue-Stockings is my "first-born." Its all my writing and poetry. The Lunch Group is a blog I share with my friends; we get some good writing up, but its mainly to keep in touch. To Be Blue is my Live Journal, my rant space.I can't guarantee the quality of writing posted, but there's always to read. And Get It Together is my baby. I consider it fairly equal in status with Blue-Stockings, but I'll post on it more regularly since I'm not presenting examples of my work.

*Sigh* Another Non-Blog Post

Blog Explosion

I feel slightly defeated and slightly ignorant. I suppose it's even more defeating putting this here. It seems that my idea of connecting bloggers has been done in a more efficient way: a large, database like site that includes a flashy icon for your blog.

I'll still work here though. I still want to become a well informed person and sitting here on my comp reading people's blogs for the past few days, I've leadned quite a lot. I hope you'll all utilize Blog Explosion if you're looking for better publicity...maybe you already have and I just never saw/didn't pay attention to the flashy button. But I also hope you'll all check back here to see what I've found. Hey, maybe I'll use it to draw more people here lol.

Going from determined to defeated purely stinks. I suppose its because it's partly because it's 2:20 in the morning here and I'm not wanting to face Sunday head on. Not yet at least.

Quoi? L'eternite

Quoi? L'eternite

I love the poetry Ana posts here. I'm no expert on analyzing - or even writing - poetry, but you don't need to analyze something to fully appreciate it. She's currently working on publishing translations for poems by the late Viktor Vida, a renouned Croatian poet, and posts a mixture of commentary and poetry (both her own and Vida's) that I've thoroughly enjoyed reading. (And for biblophiles out there, she posted a picture of a book signed and numbered William Faulkner. *Sigh* Books are one of my favorite passions...When I hear about rare ones, I react much like my peers do when they hear news of their favorite celebrity...*sigh*) Getting back to Ana, I do highly recommend visiting Quoi? L'eternite to enjoy her beautiful poetry.

Divination

UPDATE: This blog author has not updated in the past month, and the format of the blog is not coming up on either IE 7.0 or Firefox. I'll clear this update if he posts again/confirms that he's the same author I reviewed two years ago. 01/01/07

Divination

A fifth continent conquered! And what a find! I personally agree with the author's - debaser - point of view on the American government (it's one reason I'm going into constitutional law). Divination is a great read - from his scathing political view of the US to a great story about the beach - and it made me think (one of my favorite pasttimes I must add). Read a couple posts back (including the "Costal Chronicles: Parts I - IV" and the "Interval: Attack on Democracy and the Freedom of Speech." I seriously enjoyed them.

The Land of Freaks

UPDATE: This blog's author hasn't posted since 08/06, but the blog is the same one reviewed in 2005. The content seems to be the same quality as when I first reviewed it. (01/01/07)

The Land of Freaks

The Warden of this blog sounds just like me. *eerie music plays*. I enjoy reading others' daily life rants because I write so many of them myself (and rarely post them, except on The Lunch Group) and because its nice to be able to identify with the author; it makes you feel less alone. The Land of Freaks looks like it'll be a great site for those interested in reading witty posts on the everyday. I know I'll be reading it.

Beginning, Final Chapter

Update: This blog has not been updated since 01/21/2005. (01/01/07)

Beginning, Final Chapter

This is definetly a blog in its first stages, but more importantly its a blog with potential. Since author, Variegated Iris, just started today and pulled out two well-done, entertaining posts, I thought I'd keep an eye on how things go. I got a kick out of the references to Little Bunny Foo-Foo. And the solitaire...If you don't get what I'm talking about, you should go read the blog. ^.^

American in Japan

Update: Lynne now posts on American Gaijin after moving back to the United States. American in Japan is still up, but no new content is added. (01/01/07)

American in Japan

The title alone was enough to hook me, but Lynne's also got a great perspective going. I really enjoy her stuff and reading about the culture. I agree with all the comments praising her story telling abilities. It's awesome. Her recent post "I'm so broke 'How broke are you?'" includes two Haiku's that made me sigh. I think she's awesome.

    Thanks for the compliments AJ!

I've been writing a lot lately but I normally try to keep the number of posts down. Although I could write everyday I try to wait for something that really motivates me otherwise I would have posts entitled, "My rice was a little dry today" or "My tea had a floater in it" and then lawsuits would follow because people would be drooling into their keypads from boredom then everything starts sparking, eyebrows burn off my poor readers' faces....oh it would get ugly.

Anyway thanks again and I will make a link to your blog on my site.

cynsations

cynsations

I love this site and am seriously going to keep readinig it. She posts insightful tidbits on being an author and on the writing world. As an author, I find little insights like her page encouraging and inspiring. And if you're in the need for a boost, read "The Driver's Seat" post. One of my favs.

Enough To Go By

Update: Blog not found on database. (01/01/07)

Enough To Go By

Most definetly an insightful site. If you're looking for a quote a day, this is a great place to go. I especially love the Judith Viorst quote on the 11th ("Enjoy the Silence"). Author, Garrr, posts regularly and keeps things pretty mellow. In fact, its one of the few "mellow" sites I enjoy. Maybe its the quotes and pics that do it, maybe I just like it. Go see for yourself.

Planet Potato - an Irish Blog

Update: Blog not found on database (01/01/07)

Planet Potato - an Irish Blog

I found a whole host of great Irish bloggers, but Planet Potato's author has written two scathingly hilarious pieces (with more to come) entitled "Retarded Dating Advice Vols. 1 and 2." Everyone should read them. I adore the slang I don't understand (that I really want to understand) and the posts are lots of fun to read. I also highly recommend reading "Fancy a Screwdriver Love?" while your at it.

idle thoughts of an idle fellow

Update: Unfortunately, I can't find Steve's page anywhere, and his old comments come up as "Anonymous." (01/01/07)

idle thoughts of an idle fellow

This one of my favorite pages so far. Steve - the idle fellow - has a blissfully active mind (or maybe he just has someone feeding him awesome ideas) and I've enjoyed every post I've read. Also, I like the fact that he lives across a couple of oceans; it's always very refreshing to hear about life (general, political, anything) from the international perspective. I hope to get a mix of sites posted. Maybe I'll even go for at least 10 sites from every continent. ^.^ We'll see how that goes...In the meantime, go read Steve's idle thoughts. They're great.

Great. Now I'll get performance anxiety. I'll be back using performance enhancing drugs (caffeine) before you know it.

Seriously, thanks for your comments. I'm putting you on my blogroll. Great idea about linking to interesting sites you find. Usually when I hit the "next blog" button I end up with nothing very interesting.

Update: No content since 09/06, but DistressedJeans seems to have a book on the shelves. Go to the site to check it out. (01/01/07)

The Standard Introduction

I started this - my third blog - in hopes of connecting with other bloggers and in hopes of connecting other bloggers. It's a shame that finding another blog you love is a random and haphazard thing. So, I plan to roam the blogging world, looking for good reads and news as they see it. I'll post on each site that I link to, hoping to spark interest and get a network going. Enjoy!
